Anton Perold

Anton's experience in the Hotel industry started as Marketing Manager for the Lanzerac Hotel and Spa, he was promoted to Director of Marketing for Gatsby international Hotels and resorts, a Hotel marketing and management company.

During his tenure with Gatsby one year was spent managing several lodges in Namibia, management consulting was done for a variety of projects in South Africa and Africa. Anton then took up the challenge of accepting the position of CEO for Diaz International Hotels and resorts; managing all aspects of the operations and marketing of this small hotel group. Anton then joined Zabulan Hospitality as executive Director, The formation of Karibu Hospitality is a direct result of the demise of one of the principle members of Zabulan Hospitality, many of the principles and individuals from Zabulan Hospitality have been retained in Karibu Hospitality Anton has been involved with numerous national and international sales and marketing campaigns for a variety of products.

Anton is married to Deidre and has two children aged 10 and 12.


Des Lubbe

Des was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. After matriculating, he went on to Study Law. Realizing that Law was not his "first love", he turned to the hospitality industry completing a junior chef degree and started work as a junior chef in various Restaurants and Hotels.

After a late night meeting with one George Milaras the creator of the idea of Shongololo Express, he helped establish the company going on to become a partner in this venture. The company expanded into Namibia, Mozambique and Zimbabwe before being sold to Tourvest. Des then joined African Eagle as New Business Development Manager and, after nine and a half years with the company, built up an impressive portfolio of new business. In August 2009, Des took a short term contract with Aquila Private Game Reserve to provide consulting and advice in order to set up a network of international marketing representation. In June 2010, Des decided to join forces with Chris Lee and formed LTC South Africa.

In January 2010, Des added a new dimension to LTC by creating a Social Media marketing platform named "Tweeters". Less than 4 Months of operation the company is set to realize a turnover of over 6 Million Rand in its first year of operation.

Des is married to Heike and has two children aged 10 and 12


Jeroen Herweijer

Born in The Netherlands, started working in hospitality at 15 as a casual job, fell in love with the business and decided to make it his profession. Attended the Hooge Hotel school in Maastricht, graduated in 1995 specializing in hotel finance. He started his career as debtors clerk at the Victoria Hotel in Amsterdam, where he went through all the positions within the accounts department over the next 2 years.

Jeroen then joined the Radisson SAS group in 2007 as Assistant Financial Controller for the Amsterdam properties. Transferred to Germany in 2000 as Financial Manager for the new resort Fleesensee, after which he transferred to Cape Town to the Radisson Hotel Waterfront. Jeroen then joined the Three Cities Group as Financial Manager for the Mandela Rhodes Place hotel in Cape Town in 2007 after which he moved to the Pepper Club in 2010 to open the hotel, and then to Zabulan in September 2010.


Alex Theron

Alex is responsible for the maintenance of the buildings and grounds for Mount Meru Hotel. Alex has also been involved during the renovation faze of the hotel, working with contractors and project managers and still supervising that all defects are attended to. Alex has experience in the hospitality industry working at Diaz beach Resort as maintenance and activities manager.


Goji Public Relations

Prior to incorporating herself within a matrix of new and exciting possibilities, MIMI FINESTONE was a director of Matrix Advertising in the Garden Route, a partner in the successful events coordinating venture of emint communications and the regional manager for Cansa in the Free state and Southern Cape. She gives new meaning to the words delivery, personal attention, and service with a smile. Her creativity, flexibility and excellent conceptualisation skills have led to the successful management of a wide spectrum of highly successful and visible public relations and events.

With a flair for the unique and extraordinary, MARIKI THERON brings a refreshing new dimension to public relations, being experienced in the travel industry and an experienced traveller herself. Her PR, marketing and advertising background started with Thompsons Tours and from there she used her skills to promote, expand and inspire a variety of companies, from dolphin encounters in New Zealand to yacht charters in the British Virgin Islands. She was involved at the Diaz Strand Hotel and Matrix Advertising in the Garden Route. Her ambition, passion and flair for life shows in her refreshing attitude.
